We provide supportive social services and parent education programs to the families of the children we serve to help them help their children succeed.
These include a Parent Book Club in which parents read in Spanish books that their children are reading in English, to help parents model a culture of reading. They also include a diabetes clinic in which parents are taught how to avoid or manage this disease as well as a family health & wellness fair to provide local health and safety resources.
Each year Uncommon Good mothers organize a “Celebration of Women” conference in which accomplished women give talks and conduct workshops on topics of interest to the mothers. We also have support and discussion groups for our parents, like our El Cafecito program.
